Address: 71 Strong St, Amherst, MA 01002

Wildwood School is a wonderfully diverse community of approximately 350 students in Kindergarten through grade 6. We strive to create a welcoming culture in our school. School staff work to help each child become her/his personal best in learning and life. We have adopted a project-based approach that integrates the arts into all aspects of learning. Diversity is celebrated through the daily life in the school, as well as in materials chosen, themes studied and festivals held. Wildwood supports a robust program for English Language Learners, which incorporates best practices for children learning a new language. We proudly host a district program for children with intensive special needs (ILC). All students participate in art, music and physical education. Technology is an integral part of learning and students use computers in the computer lab, the library and their classrooms. The library with its new MakerSpace is in many ways the hub of learning in our school. Instrumental lessons, band and orchestra are offered to students in the upper grades. We are fortunate to be a training ground for interns from the five colleges in the Amherst area. Parents are our partners and are closely involved in our school through the School Council, PGO and as “valuable volunteers” in the classrooms. Welcome to Wildwood School!

About the FPA

The ARPS Friends of Performing Arts (FPA) is a parent and guardian booster group for the performing arts program of the Amherst Regional Public Schools.  We are incorporated as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit in order to process donations and contributions to the classrooms and school. We also provide travel logistics assistance for the bi-annual student travel trips outside of Massachusetts. To meet these needs, we provide volunteer time, fundraising activities and outreach in support of the Teacher and Student events.
